Accessibility Statement for Aurora Cabin

Aurora Cabin is committed to offering a welcoming and comfortable experience to all guests. This Accessibility Statement explains our efforts and limitations related to accessibility at our property in Hanle Village, Ladakh.

Our Commitment

We aim to accommodate guests with different needs to the best of our ability, within the practical constraints of our high-altitude, rural location and cabin-style construction. Guests are encouraged to inform us of any specific accessibility requirements at the time of inquiry or booking so that we can advise on suitability and make reasonable arrangements where possible.

Property Features and Physical Access

  • Aurora Cabin consists of 12 individual wooden cabins with insulated roofing and wooden flooring.

  • The property is located in a remote hamlet of Hanle Village, with road access and on-site parking space.

  • Access routes may include uneven surfaces, steps, gravel, and natural terrain typical of a mountain village environment.

  • Not all areas may be suitable for guests with limited mobility, wheelchair users, or those requiring step-free access.

Because of the design and setting of the cabins, fully barrier-free or step-free access to all units and facilities cannot be guaranteed at this time.

Guest Rooms and Facilities

  • Each cabin includes an attached western-style bathroom with hot and cold shower, premium bedding (king-size bed), and a wardrobe.

  • Cabins are designed to be cozy and comfortable but are not currently fitted with specialized accessibility equipment such as grab bars, roll-in showers, or widened doorways.

  • The dining hall is located on-site and access depends on local terrain and weather conditions.

Guests with specific mobility, visual, or other access needs are requested to contact us in advance so we can describe the layout in detail and help determine if the accommodation is suitable.

High-Altitude and Environmental Considerations

  • Aurora Cabin is situated in a high-altitude region, and guests with respiratory, cardiac, or other health conditions should seek medical advice before travel.

  • Weather conditions, snow, ice, and seasonal changes may affect paths, steps, and outdoor surfaces, impacting accessibility.

Communication and Assistance

  • Due to limited and sometimes unreliable internet connectivity in Hanle, verbal communication (phone) is often the most reliable way to discuss needs and receive accurate information.

  • Our team will do its best to:

    • Explain room layouts and access routes.

    • Suggest the most suitable cabins, if available.

    • Offer reasonable assistance with luggage and orientation on arrival.

Website and Digital Information

At present, our online presence is basic and may not fully conform to international web accessibility standards. Guests who face any difficulty accessing information online are encouraged to contact us directly by phone or email so that we can provide the necessary details in a suitable format.

Feedback and Continuous Improvement

We value feedback from guests regarding accessibility. If you have suggestions, concerns, or experience any difficulty related to access or facilities during your stay, please let us know so that we can consider improvements over time.
